As an HR professional, you are uniquely positioned to provide insight into and shape the development of federal and state workplace place laws and regulations. Given HR’s unique knowledge and experience of implementing these laws within their organizations, wouldn’t your influence make for better HR public policy? The answer is unequivocally YES, which is why the role of an HR Advocate is so important.

By participating in this session, you will be able to:

    ·         Define Advocacy – What is it and how does it work?

    ·         Explain how laws are made

    ·         Share your expertise with decision-makers at the local, state, and federal levels

    ·         Identify ways that you can get involved in public policy and advocacy efforts

    ·         Get excited about advocacy!
