Engaging and motivating good people are central challenges in maintaining a productive, customer focused business. The difficult economy and business pressures work against building the level of engagement that can maximize business results and lessen HR challenges. For example, Hewitt and Associates reports “High-engagement firms had total shareholder return 19% higher than average” and Towers Perrin found “disengaged employees were actively looking for another job at 5 times the rate of engaged employees”.

This workshop explores some of the drivers of these challenges, a broad strategy to look at the organizational barriers and a specific method to influence improvements in one’s own area of influence.  HR professionals and the people they support in their organizations can have more control in this challenge than they may expect.

     Program Objectives:

    • Examine the impacts of employee engagement, why it is currently under significant pressure and several recent examples of leading positive change
    • Learn a process for aligning engagement in an organization that can build clarity and motivation
    • Learn and practice a method for strengthening motivation
