CHAPTER ANNOUNCEMENT - Expanded role for GWHRA board member Becky Kowall

    January 27, 2014

Melissa Schroeder, MBA, SPHR HR Business Partner @ AmerisourceBergen

I'm pleased to announced that GWHRA board member Becky Kowall, our current Workforce Readiness Director, has agreed to take on expanded responsibilities as Membership Director.

In Becky's new dual role, she will be focused on driving retention of existing GWHRA members and attracting new HR professionals to our organization. Becky has done an excellent job of creating Workforce Readiness partnerships in the community and helping educate our members on local opportunities. I'm confident she will do an equally strong job in her role as Membership Director working directly with Membership VP Kellile Hock.

Becky is actively searching for an HR position and is someone who I recommend considering for an open position at your organization.

    Her bio is included below:

Becky is a HR professional with over 10 years of human resource experience spanning many industries including government, transportation, construction, and multi-employer hospitality. Her career has progressively developed through positions of increased responsibility including experience in performance management, recruitment, labor compliance, union contract administration, human resources administration, employee relations and conflict resolution, payroll administration, and extensive experience in benefit administration and retirement planning.
Becky graduated from Lewis University with her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management and a minor in Business Administration. Mid-term education goals include attaining her Masters degree in Human Resource Education at the University of Illinois with a concentration in Human Resource Development.

Additionally, Becky is serving in a dual Director role with GWHRA. In August 2013, Becky accepted the Workforce Readiness Director position with defined objectives of becoming an advocate, communicator, and educator on issues facing workplaces & the human resource profession. In January 2014,

Becky has accepted the Membership Director position and looks forward to the continued relationship building and partnership opportunities in her community. Becky’s main goal in this new role includes retention of current members while identifying and engaging with potential new members to join our incredibly rewarding GWHRA Chapter.

Please join me in congratulating Becky on her expanded role!
