What Every HR Professional Needs To Know About I-9 Compliance

The Form I-9, Employment Eligibility Verification, is the process that all US employers are legally mandated to complete to ensure their employees have authorization to work. The I-9 process is an area rife with difficulties for employers due to ever-changing immigration policies and laws. This session will provide HR professionals of all experience levels with a refresher on the Form I-9 completion process. We will review recent government guidance and the new “Smart I-9” form. We will also cover common employer mistakes, best practices, special considerations for self-audits and E-Verify employers, and resources available to employers.

Are your Forms I-9 in order? After the program, Esther will remain to provide 10 to 15 minute consultations to answer specific questions you may have relating to your company’s I-9 process and review a sample of your Forms I-9. If you’d like to participate, please bring copies of up to three Forms I-9 for your employees.
